How To Play Halloween Bingo
SET UP THE GAME
Each player gets a unique bingo card. The game can have a maximum of 8 players. If you play this in kindergarten, you can group the kids into 8 or fewer groups.
Put the stack of caller cards in the centre and choose someone to be the caller.
Every player also gets markers. You can use Halloween candy, small toys or bingo chips as markers.
Call the cards AND PLAY
You can start the game by calling out one card from the pile of caller cards.
Kids should look for the called picture on their bingo card. If they find it, they place a marker over the picture on their board.
The goal is to cover a specific pattern on the card (horizontal, vertical, diagonal or the entire card).
When a player completes the pattern, they shout “Bingo!” and win the game. Agree on a pattern before you start the game.
To keep it exciting, you can give small Halloween themed prizes for each round.
Other Ways To Play Bingo
We enjoy this classic game in many ways. If your kids are getting used to it and becoming bored after some time, try following variations to the game.
- 1 line or no line – The basic way to play the game is to fill one line or the whole board. How about no line? In this mode, the goal is to avoid filling a line. The last person to fill a line, will be the winner.
- Race to Bingo – You can set up a timer for each round and let kids race to complete a line before the timer goes off. Suitable for older kids.
- Silent Bingo – Instead of openly playing the game, kids can mark their boards without showing them to others. The winner will be a surprise.
- Picture clues – Instead of calling out the images or showing the image, the caller can describe what’s on the image. However, the caller cannot play the game in this way.
